Water crisis in Pandoka Colony

We, the residents of Sector 3 and Sector 4, Pandoka Colony, Paloura, Jammu (City) have been facing acute water shortage for a long time now. PHE department releases water on alternate days and that too at low pressure. May be the workers don’t open the valves fully.
No doubt the water table inside the bore well pumping station at Shiva Temple premises is declining but the concerned PHE officials have no strategy to exploit ground water to threshhold level and stop lowering water table.
We were told during our interaction with officials at highest level that the case for re-development of bore well and laying of new pipes is on cards. But nothing has been done so far. We fear that coming summer will prove worst.

Lift garbage heaps
This is to draw the attention of the JMC authorities that heaps of dirt drudged out of filth laden sewerage drain of Lane No 12 of Bhawani Nagar, Janipur has remained unlifted for over a week now. Stinking heaps of the dirt have caused a severe concern amongst the residents of the Lane 12 fearing the outbreak of diseases.
The officer concerned of JMC has repeatedly shown apathy and neglect. It is, therefore, requested to these authorities to keep the area clean by lifting these stinking heaps.

Renovate Gole Gujral School
It is to bring in the notice of the concerned authorities that the class room in GHS Camp Gole Gujral Talab Tillo are in bad shape. The condition of these rooms has worsened to such an extent that wild grass and other weeds have sprouted in  these classrooms. Besides, the doors, windows and ventilators of these rooms have got badly damaged. The roofs are also leaking, and it become very difficult for students to use these rooms during rainy days. If these rooms are not repaired, these will collapse at any time.
In such a condition, it has become impossible for students to study properly in this school.
The Education Department is requested to look into the matter at the earliest before any eventuality takes place.

Creation of ADC’s Office
Resorting to agitations and bandhs by the public of Tehsil Sunder Bani, Kalakote and Nowshera on the issue of establishment of ADC’s office to facilitate the masses who face in describable hardship, as District Headquarter Rajouri, is fairly inaccessible and difficult to visit due to remoteness of the areas. Perhaps, this is the reason why all these tehsils, particularly, their back pockets, still stand under developed and far-far away from the required facilities, needed in the present world. The demand for a separate District Headquarters for all these tehsils has been long outstanding. But the pick and chose policy of the successive Governments and even of the existing one, compelled the peace loving people of these areas to come on the roads. Is it fair and good to keep the masses engaged in such activities like bandhs and agitations when the demand is genuine and legitimately justified? Decentralisation of powers is the first requisite of any good Government and therefore, establishment of an office of ADC where actually needed and justified taking all the areas/tehsils into consideration, can’t be over emphasised. Hope, needful would done to put full-stop to such public disturbances, which cause irreparable losses to the public.

Shortage of staff in H/S Kencha
There is acute shortage of staff in Government High School Kencha in Kahara tehsil of Doda district. Presently, there are only four teachers for 300 students in this school. One can very well imagine the academic environment in this school in such a condition. The problem has not been addressed for last two years though the concerned officials are aware of it. With the result, the pass percentage has been falling continuously since then.
It is therefore requested to the Director School Education, Jammu to depute adequate staff to this school so that academic work is carried on smoothly.

Community toilet at Bagnoti
I would like to invite the attention of concerned authorities towards the need for a Community Toilet at Bagnoti Market. I do appreciate the sincere efforts of the District Development Commissioner, Rajouri towards making district Rajouri an open defecation free district. But at the same time I would also like to point out that the area surrounding Bagnoti Market is being badly polluted due to open defecation by the poor labour community settled on rental accommodation. There is an urgent need for construction of a Community Toilet in the area. Besides labour, there are a number of people who have to wait for buses at Bagnoti Market and they often need toilet facilities. And it is the responsibility of Rural Development Department to do the needful for which the land is readily available. The department has constructed a toilet at an odd place which is still non functional and is good for nothing. Consequently, the people in need have to go for open defecation.
There is bad smell all around and the land belonging to Panchayat Chakjaralan, which could be converted into a Community park is being used as a Community toilet. The concerned authorities should look into the matter in the best interest of public health and hygiene.
