JAMMU, Nov 23: Seeking adequate security arrangements for the wholesale traders having their business establishments in the vicinity of Ware House-Nehru Market Jammu, a joint delegation of traders met with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu SD Singh Jamwal here today.
The delegation comprising Arun Gupta former general secretary Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu, Yashpal Gupta, president Retailers Federation, Ramesh Gupta president Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha Jammu and president, Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market Jammu Rattan Lal Gupta and general secretary Deepak Gupta showed strong concern over the growing incidents of thefts in Ware House-Nehru Market area. They urged upon the IGP Jammu to take notice of these incidents which have created fear psychosis among the traders.
Citing incident, general secretary Traders Federation Ware House Nehru Market Jammu Deepak Gupta apprised IGP that that in one such incident the thieves broke open the window panes of the car of trader Ramesh Gupta and took away cash amount of Rs 3.50 lakhs with them. The matter was reported to police but the same was not solved till date.
He informed him that earlier too, such type of incidents have happened but no concrete steps have been taken to solve them while as many times the thefts were brought into notice of incharge Police Post Ware House and SHO Gandhi Nagar They stressed upon the IGP to issue orders to the SHO and I/C PP to solve the cases of the thefts and control the growing other crime activities in the area.
The IGP listened to their problems carefully and assured them a necessary action in this regard.
Senior vice president of the Federation Dheeraj Mahajan, junior vice president Munish Mahajan, secretary Abhimanyu Gupta and cashier Vishal Gupta also accompanied the delegation.
