Wani for timely execution of ongoing R&B projects

JAMMU, May 19: Minister for Roads & Building and Mechanical Engineering, Abdul Majid Wani has directed the concerned officers to ensure strict adherence to the timeframe set for the completion of the ongoing projects under the R&B Sector.
Speaking at a high level meeting held to review the progress of ongoing projects in Jammu division, the Minister stressed that the set targets should be achieved in time bound manner and coordinated efforts should be made by the concerned agencies to remove the bottlenecks impeding the project implementation.
Mr Wani took a detailed review of the financial and physical achievements under R&B, PMGSY and allied sectors. He was apprised about the ongoing projects in various districts especially in the Chenab valley area.  The Minister asked the concerned officers to immediately take up the restoration works of the roads to provide succour to the people of these areas. He stressed for speedy action in seeking forest clearances and disbursement of compensation.
The Minister directed the concerned officers to personally monitor the pace of work, adding that proper monitoring and optimal use of the resources will ensure timely completion of projects. He also asked the concerned officers to submit a weekly status report on the progress of ongoing works to ensure timely and hassle free completion.
MLA Inderwal and MLA Bhaderwah, besides Chief Engineer, PMGSY and Chief Engineer, R&B Jammu were also present in the meeting.
