SRINAGAR, June 7: The coalition Government faced embarrassment in Legislative Assembly today when BJP MLA Sukhnandan walked-out as he was not provided an answer to his question listed in the day’s business.
Sukhnandan informed Speaker Kavinder Gupta during the Question Hour that he had not been provided the written reply to his query about development of ‘Gujjar bastis’ in Marh block in Jammu region.
After consulting the Secretary Assembly Mohammad Ramzan, the Speaker informed the MLA that he would get the written reply in due course of time.
As the allotted time for Question Hour ended, Sukhnandan again sought to know why the Government had not provided a written reply to his question. The MLA then staged a walkout.
The Independent MLA from Khansahib, Hakim Mohammad Yasin also staged walkout protesting against the Speaker on ignoring him. “You never allow me to speak. I am a senior member,” Yasin said while staging a walkout from the House.
The Independent MLA wanted to raise a supplementary to a question about development of tourism sites in Jammu and Kashmir but was not allowed by the Speaker.
