Vyeth releases ‘Shardha Mahatamyam’

JAMMU, May 29: A book titled ‘Shardha Mahatamyam’ written by late Shri Brij Nath Tikoo was released at a function organized by Vyeth, a socio cultural organisation) held in the K.L.Saigal Hall, in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, here today. Vijay Bakaya former Chief Secretary and MLC J&K state, was the chief guest on the occasion. The function started with a welcome note by Savita Bakshi the Additional Secretary J&KAACL.
The book gives a description about Mata Shardha,divided in two sections, the first one gives a detailed account of the place where Rishi Shandalya must have performed Tapasya/his austerities as also the place where he must have stayed before establishing the Shardha Shrine at the Shardhi hill and the second section of the book deals with the worship part-Shardha Panchang which is the five fold description of Shardha in Shardha Patal.Shardha Satotra (kavach). Shardha Puja Paddati,Shardha Chakra,Upasna and Shardha Sahasranama.
The book review was read by Opinder Ambardar & Prof .Usha Jalali, M.L.Ganjoo and B.L.Saraf also spoke in the occasion. The function was attended by galaxy of scholars and intellectuals including the team of Vyeth. The prominent among them were T.N Ganjoo Wishwas &P.N.Shad. A slide show of Dr.A.R.Nazki was the point of attraction to the viewers. Dr.Pran Kaul read the paper written by Dr.Nazki.
The function ended with vote of thanks proposed by the founder President of Vyeth Prof.Virender Rawal.
