Jammu, Mar 22: Financial Commissioner, Planning and Development, B.B. Vyas, today reviewed the latest status with respect to the disbursement of flood relief in a video conference with Deputy Commissioners.
Commissioner Secretary, H&UD, Bipul Pathak, Commissioner Secretary, Finanace N K Choudhary, Secretary, Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation, Mohammad Afzal Bhat, Secretary, CA&PD, Saurabh Bhagat and senior officers were also present.
Mr Vyas was informed that the process of distribution of sanctioned flood relief among affected households has been completed in most of the districts and few remaining districts including Srinagar will be completing the exercise shortly.
The financial assistance has been sanctioned under SDRF, PMNRF and PMDP (2015) in respect of different categories of damaged houses.
Meanwhile, Mr Vyas also reviewed with Deputy Commissioners, the latest status of implementation of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and National Food Security Act, 2013 in the State.
Mr Vyas said that implementation of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is high on the agenda of the State Government and Deputy Commissioners are required to take leadership role to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in all offices and public places in the towns and cities. He said over the next two weeks special sanitation drives should be carried to clean accumulated waste and garbage from all spots.
Mr Vyas asked Deputy Commissioners to hold meetings with Administrators of Municipalities to ensure daily collection and removal of garbage. He said Swachh Bharat Abhiyan provides a good opportunity to attend to the sanitation needs of our towns and cities and Municipal officers should give impetus to the cleanliness drives in all districts.
In respect of National Food Security Act, Mr Vyas asked Deputy Commissioners to launch an intensive drive for securing the highest level of fidelity of the data to ensure that all entitled consumers are correctly categorized in the AAY, BPL and Priority categories.
Mr Vyas directed that the details of rationees should be displayed outside every Fair Price Shop in the State and salesman should conduct 100% scrutiny of the list.
