JAMMU, Jan 6: Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, B. B. Vyas today chaired a meeting to review the status of Jammu Airport expansion.
Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pawan Kotwal, Secretary to Chief Minister, M. H Malik, IGP Jammu Zone, Danesh Rana, Commissioner JMC, Mandeep Kaur, Chief Conservator Wildlife, A K Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, Deputy GOC, 26-Inf Division, Brig., Randhir Singh, Director Airport Authority of India, Chief Engineer PW(R&B), Jammu, Chief Engineer I&FC, Jammu and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
Principal Secretary was briefed by the Divisional Commissioner on various components of the project and its present status.
With regard to the work on the boundary wall, Mr. Vyas asked Chief Engineer PWD to complete the work on it by this month. He also asked him to complete the work on basic accommodation by June this year.
On re-alignment of electric lines, the Principal Secretary asked the concerned PDD officials to complete the tendering process at the earliest so that the work is initiated soon.
Meanwhile, Chief Engineer I&FC briefed the meeting on the status of the irrigation canal re-alignment. Mr. Vyas asked him to take up legalities involved in the matter if any, with the Advocate General to take the project work forward.
Other issues flagged by Director AAI and Deputy GOC pertaining to the project were also examined in the meeting.
Later, Mr. Vyas, who is also the Principal Secretary, Hospitality and Protocol department, in another meeting reviewed the progress of work and issues pertaining to construction of Convention Centre Jammu.
He asked the concerned to remove bottlenecks impeding the expeditious completion of the project.
The meeting was attended by Secretary to Chief Minister, Managing Director JKPCC, Director Hospitality and Protocol, representatives of SICOP and various contracting agencies.
