Govt to provide free life saving drugs in hospitals shortly: Lal Singh

DODA, Jan 6: “Free life saving drugs in Government Hospitals will soon be a reality”, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Ch Lal Singh today said this while addressing a public rally at Doda.
Earlier, the Minister inspected the District Hospital Doda and reviewed the progress of various ongoing construction works in the hospital.
He directed GM, JKPCC Doda to complete the construction work on boundary wall within month.
Responding to the demand of posting a radiologist in the District Hospital, Minister issued directions to CMO Doda to nominate a Medical Officer for the purpose.
With an initiative to Go Green and Go Clean, Lal Singh issued directions to the CMO Doda to plant Chinar  and Deodar tress along the compound wall  in District Hospital.
He stressed on maintaining cleanliness in and around the hospital building and asked for face-lifting of the building. He also stressed on clean ambulances besides cleaning the hospital in evening hours when there is less rush of patients in the hospital.
For the convenience of the patients and their attendants accompanying them, he asked for installation of steel sitting benches in the park on the front side of the hospital. Directions were also passed for proper parking of vehicles towards the entry gate of the hospital premises so that in emergency situations, vehicles can be immediately rushed to the spot for carrying the patients.
He also inspected the registration counter of the hospital where he enquired about 102 ambulance facilities , Public Service Guarantee Act facilities and diet of the lactating women who underwent delivery in the hospital and asked for improvement in the quality of diet provided to them.
He also interacted with patients in emergency ward and labor room and said that the Health Ministry is working for providing better health services to them and for any complaint and help he asked patients to directly contact him for which he also shared his phone number.
Minister was accompanied by MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar, SSP Doda Z.N Manhas, Director NHM, Dr Mohan Singh, Director Family Welfare, Dr. Baldev Sharma , Director Health Services Jammu B. S Pathania, Project Director AIDS, Dr Sail-ul Rahman, CMO Doda Dr Kulbhushan  and other senior officer of health department
Later, Mr Lal Singh addressed a public rally which was attended by MLA Doda Shakti Raj Parihar, MLA Bhaderwah Daleep Singh Parihar, District President BJP Advocate Manjeet Razdan among others.
He announced that in next one to two months over 70% of medicines prescribed by the doctors will be available free of cost in all the public health institutions. He further announced that by March this year all the medical tests will be conducted free of cost in all the Government Hospitals. “We are working in a missionary way to provide all the medicines free of cost in Government hospitals by 2017-18”, he further said.
Earlier MLA Doda said that this rally is organized to celebrate  91st birth  anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Atal Bihari Vajpayee whose birthday is celebrated as “Susahan Diwas. He recounted the various schemes launched by the present Government including Jan Dhan Yojana, Mudra Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti, Atal Pension Yojana and Swach Bharat Abhiyan among others.
MLA Bhaderwah Mr Daleep Singh Parihar also spoke on the occasion.
