JAMMU, Nov 11: All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association today staged a protest demonstration in front of Press Club, against State SRTC for not clearing their pending dues.
Addressing the protesting VRS employees, president of the Association, Dev Raj Bali, strongly criticized the attitude of State Government and higher authorities of SRTC for their failure to clear legitimate dues of VRS/GHS employees.
The protesting employees said that they are still struggling for getting dues of 6th Pay Commission arrears with effect from January 1, 2006 and COLA arrears with effect from 1999 whereas the Central Government has given the benefits of even 7th Pay Commission to its employees.
Alleging that for last 6 years they are struggling for their rights and during this struggle 16 VRS/GHS employees breathed their last, as they could not afford the medical treatment for want of funds, they demanded the authorities to immediately clear all their pending dues and provide them pension benefits.
