VRS employees criticize Govt for ignoring them in package

JAMMU, Sept 21: All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association today criticized the UT administration for ignoring them even in the recent package announced by it.
Addressing a press conference here today, Dev Raj Bali, president, VRS Union, Dev Raj Bali said the UT administration once again ignored the VRS lower level employees despite announcing that they will be benefitted from the package. He flayed the UT administration for this adamant attitude towards VRS and GHS employees of J&K SRTC.
Bali said the funds were always available with Finance Department but it kept on harassing the VRS/GHS employees by not releasing their dues intentionally due to reasons best known to those at the helm of affairs.
“Our own Department did injustice with us by not clearing our dues which were promised to be cleared within 60 days from the date of VRS and GHS,” he added.
Reiterating the demands of the Association, which included clearing COLA arrears with effect from 1999, 6th Pay Commission arrears with effect from January 1, 2006 and implementation of Corporation benefits, Bali appealed the LG to intervene personally to release the dues of VRS/GHS employees.
Davinder Singh, Kulbir Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Sat Bhushan Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Surjeet Singh and DN Sharma were present in the meeting.
