Vomedh for financial assistance to artists

JAMMU, May 16: Senior artists, intellectuals, journalists and thinkers of the society have strongly recommended that J&K Government must announce a financial package for the Theatre and TV artists whose source of income has come to a standstill due to lockdown.
These demands were put forth by the top artists, intellectuals, journalists and thinkers during their live webcasts on the first of its kind live Facebook Quarantine Series initiated by Vomedh to provide a platform for artists and other people during the COVID-19 lockdown.
The Quarantine series conceived by Rohit Bhat, President-Director Vomedh and Rakesh Roshan Bhat, Mentor of Vomedh, has seen top people going live on the Vomedh Facebook page presenting their views on various topics of their expertise and also suggesting what could be done to provide relief to the artists community who are dependent on continuous theatre performances, shootings etc and have no other source of income.
Thinkers, social activists and senior artists who demanded financial package for the artists during their live Quarantine Sessions on Vomedh Facebook Page included Rakesh Roshan Bhat, Rohit Bhat, King C Bharati, Manzoor Ahmed Mir, Vikram Sharma, Kusum Tikoo, Ayaash Aarif, Mushtaq Kak, PN Shad, Kajal Suri, Sapna Soni, Ramesh Hangloo , Sonali Dogra and Bharati Koul.
Dignitaries who have participated in the live sessions included Ayaash Aarif, Dr Agnishekher, Daleep Langoo and others.
