JAMMU, July 14: The Vigilance Organisation has booked an Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) of the Rural Development Department M Y Malik and seized record from his residential premises here today.
A spokesman from the office of Vigilance Commissioner said that acting on the basis of  a compliant, the Vigilance office started preliminary inquiry into the matter and registered a case FIR No. 19/2018 against the said officer today.
He said the instant case was registered on the basis of reliable inputs received by the Vigilance Organisation with respect to the facts that the accused officer MY Malik, who is on deputation to the RDD from Agriculture department and presently posted at Reasi has amassed huge assets both moveable as well as immovable, by indulging in illegal practices. He has raised assets, which are disproportionate  to his known source of income.
After registration of a case, the teams of Vigilance raided three premises of the officer and found that expenditure worth crores have been made on various properties raised by the said officer. All the relevant records/ documents were seized. The said record is being put to scrutiny.  Further investigation has been launched, the spokesman added.
