VKS, Global Solace discuss problems of displaced Pandits

JAMMU, Nov 13: The activists of Vishaw Kashmiri Samaj (VKS) and Global Solace in a joint meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of Kiran Wattal convener Vishaw Kashmiri Samaj threadbare discussed the various issues confronting the displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
The meeting urged the Government to take initiative to settle the long pending problems of the displaced people to restore their confidence in the system. The meeting said that Kashmiri Pandits are leading an exiled life for over last 32 years now and a fool proof mechanism be put in place for their honourable and dignified rehabilitation fulfilling their geo-political aspirations.
It said the community has a lot of hope in the present dispensation at Centre and LG administration in J&K UT in resettling the community in their homeland.
The meeting was apprised by Pinto Ji head of Global Solace who highlighted various steps taken by the Global Solace in collaboration with Vishaw Kashmiri Samaj for the welfare of the welfare of the displaced people. In this regard he said that Global Solace, Kakni Building Humanity supported by Vishaw Kashmiri Samaj recently solemnized the Yagnopavit ceremony of 24 Kashmiri Pandit boys at Swami Mirzakak Ashram Nagrota to create an awareness among the community about its three fold duty towards their families, Devtass (gods) and Pitras (the elders who had left this world). These boys were blessed by the elders in the community besides, saints including Swami Kumar Ji of Ghri, Udhampur Dr Suashil Wattal a philanthropist, Prof Ashok Aima, VC CUJ, Dr Ramesh Bhat, B L Bhat, senior journalist, M K Bangroo, M K Yogi, B L Hangloo and many others.
He appealed the community to avoid lavish spending on social functions and work for building a strong social cohesiveness in the society.
