VKK stages play ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’

REASI, Oct 11: Viraj Kala Kendra (VKK) in collaboration with Tourism Department Jammu today staged a play titled ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ at Higher Secondary School, Katra.
The play was based on the achievements of India right from 1947 till date. It depicts the main events from the life history as well as political history of great leaders as well as freedom fighters of India viz. Khudiram Bose, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Sarojini Naidu and the event in which Nizam of Hyderabad surrendered before Vallabhbhai Patel.
The play also depicts the speech of Shrimati Indira Gandhi and Kargil war where in Param Vir Chakra Captain Vikram Batra sacrificed his life for India on the snowy hills of Kargil. The main achievements of P V Narsimha Rao as well as Atal Bihari Vajpayee are also depicted in the play.
The play has been written by the local writer Rajneesh Gupta and this was the third stage show of the play. At first, the play was staged at 17 Garhwal Regiment, Bari Brahmana and the second show was staged on 9th of October at Higher Secondary School, Katra and this was the third. The fourth show is also going to be held at same venue on October 13, 2021.
The seasoned and energetic artists who participated in the play were Madan Rangila, Santosh Sangra, Pawan Verma, Rishab Minhas,Tarun Charak, Jiteshwar, Renu Sharma, Sohi Sharma, Suhani Rathore, Amit Bhalla and Sandeep Sharma. The makeup was done by Dr Kamal Sharma.
