VKK conducts workshop on ‘Theatre and Acting’

JAMMU, Apr 12: A one day workshop on ‘Theatre and Acting’ was conducted here today by Viraj Kala Kendra (VKK) at MIER College of Education under the guidance of Rajneesh Gupta, a well known writer and theatrist along with the team members including Madan Rangeela, Meera Tapasvi and Tarun Charak.
Dr. Renu Gupta, Chairperson, MIER and Prof. Adit Gupta, Principal MIER College of Education were chief guests on the occasion who appreciated the way in which the workshop was conducted involving more than 150 students of the College.
A play was prepared on the spot in which ten students of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities including Sahil, Mohit, Nirbhay Khajuria, Piyush, Simar Kour, Kanureet, Tehzeeb and Vandana participated.
In this two-hour workshop the students responded to the suddenly asked questions about a puzzled mystery.
After this play, another Hindustani play ‘Ek Panna Gumnaam’ was read by the artists of VKK which was based on the life history of freedom fighters Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq-ullah-Khan, Thakur Roshan Singh and Rajender Lahiri from which the students were taught on how to give expressions at the moments of sadness, happiness and patience.
A clip from Dogri play ‘Mithi Dhup’ was also presented by Rajneesh Gupta and Meera Tapasvi.
Renu Gupta thanked VKK for conducting such a workshop.
