JAMMU, Sept 18: On the eve of Vishwakarma Pooja Divas celebrations, Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha organized a function to honour the meritorious students and others who have excelled in academics, art, sports and culture.
The programme was organized under the chairmanship of Shashi Verma, president of the Sabha, while Rashpal Verma, Vice-Chairman of OBC Advisory Board, was the chief guest on the occasion. Kuldeep Raj Verma, former VC of OBC Advisory Board and R L Chargotra, vice-president of Akhil Bhartiya Vishwakaram Mahasabha, were the guests of honour.
On the occasion, total 80 students were honoured. They were presented a certificate of excellence along with Memento. Rashpal Verma gave away the awards and said that it was their prime duty to guide and engage the youth to proper destination.
Those awarded, included Sahaj, Kanav, Tamanna, Abhinav Bajal, Vishaly Devi, Ramika Chargotra, Sunil Verma, Mridul Vishwarkarma, Sunil Verma, Mansi Salgotra, Kajal Verma, Shyamal Verma, Sparsh Verma, Nishant Puri, Prashant Puri, Ankita Kumari, Mridul Jaral, Shivam Verma, Vishav Dalmotra, Urmi Verma, Tanvi Salgotra, Mitali Verma, Anju Bala, Samant Kumar, Vishal Kataria, Vanshika Kalgotra, Manik Samyal, Vishal Malhotra, Komal Dhiman and Abhishek.
A large number of Vishwakarma community people, including women and children from all over the Jammu province, attended the programme. Budding singer, Vanshika Jaral enthralled the audience by singing a heart touching song. Similarly Mukesh Verma and Shanti Anural Devi added cheers by their dance performances. Students of Verma High School also presented a cultural show.
Balwant Kataria presented a formal welcome address and also conducted proceedings of the programme.
