Villagers protest shortage of teachers in GHS Theni-Dhar

UDHAMPUR, Apr 23: Villagers of Ladha and students of Government High School (GHS) Theni-Dhar located in zone Chenani today staged a protest over shortage of teachers in the school.
Scores of villagers and students of the GHS Theni-Dhar under the leadership of Dewan Singh Thakur, Ex Panch and SS Thakur, assembled near the school and raised slogans against Education Department and district administration for totally ignoring schools of this far flung area.
The protesting villagers said that there are only 3 teachers working in this School against sanctioned strength of 12 whereas there are about 250 students in the school. They alleged that the department has attached some influential teachers from this school, thus making poor public to suffer.
The protesters said due to shortage of teachers, the students are suffering, as the existing three teachers in the school remained busy to perform other duties like ODF campaign, BLO duties, official Dak, and have no time to teach the students. Besides, this it is not possible for 3 teachers to teach ten classes regularly.
The villagers appealed the CEO Udhampur and DC Udhampur to make suitable provision of staff in this school within 5 days otherwise they will lock up the school and block National Highway at Moud-Samaroli.
