UDHAMPUR, Dec 29: Up in arms against irregular supply of drinking water, locals of village Kousal, Panchyat Badhota in tehsil Panchari, held a strong protest demonstration against PHE Department, here today.
The agitating villagers raised slogans against the PHE authorities and claimed that they were being forced to fetch muddy water from natural sources as there was no supply of drinking water to the village for days together.
Since the water fetched from natural sources remain grubby, consumption of the same was leading to infection and intestinal problems among kids and elderly people, they rued and gave example of Badhota where locals were drinking grubby water from natural sources and thus got gripped with diarrhea.
The villagers said that despite repeated pleas to the concerned authorities, there was no response to their plight.
