REASI, Jan 10: Up in arms against irregular supply of drinking water, residents of village Marhi and Basti today held a strong protest demonstration at main road leading to Jyotipuram, Mahore and other areas.
The protesting people, who included women and children, raised slogans against the authorities and completely blocked the road for more than two hours.
They alleged that despite repeated pleas to the concerned PHE authorities, their problem was not being addressed and hence they were left with no option other than to resort to such way.
During the protest demonstration, vehicular movement on both ends of the road remained suspended.
Later, XEn PHE personally visited the spot and assured regular water supply in near future following which people lifted the dharna and dispersed off.
