BGSBU gears up for financial digitalization

JAMMU, Jan 10: Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Prof Javed Musarrat today convened a meeting of all the Deans, Head of Departments and Officers of the University and the Officials of J&K bank for discussing the steps to be taken for making BGSB University cashless and moving towards digital ways of financial transactions.
In the meeting, the IT expert from J&K Bank made a power point presentation on the latest Apps of J&K Bank and the new features being introduced in the internet banking by J&K Bank. After the presentation, discussions were held.
The VC stressed upon the need of going cashless and asked the bank officials to submit a tailor made proposal, which could cater all the needs of the University. He said POS machines should be installed in the University for collection of all kinds of fee. Other than that he wanted a link in the website through which students can deposit fee online from anywhere they are. The Vice Chancellor also asked the Deans, Head of Departments and Officers of the University to encourage students and employees to go for cashless transactions and also to create awareness among the people regarding digital ways to make payments.
