UDHAMPUR, Apr 17: Villagers of Kulwanta today protested against worst condition of under construction PMGSY road to Bari Ladana in Ramnagar Tehsil.
The protestors raised slogans against the PMGSY department and appealed the Governor for his personal intervention to ensure that the PMGSY Department does not delay completion of this road. The entire village is dependent on this road and people suffer because it has not been completed by the contractor for more than a year.
“This 14.5 km road from Kulwanta to Bari Ladana under PMGSY Package number JK14-206 was to be completed with an amount of Rs 789.79 lakh by March 2018 but even after the lapse of more than an year since it deadline, the road is incomplete,” the villagers explained and added that despite complaints to the PMGSY Department and even in Mari Sadak app, no action was taken.
“These days the condition of road is so bad that we even can’t walk on it and it is risky to transport sick old person, pregnant women to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar and DH Udhampur because of big potholes while school going children too suffer as during rainy days, the road remain completely closed,” they added.
