REASI, May 18: The residents of Kouri in Reasi district today blocked Reasi- Judda road for five hours protesting against the PHE and PDD for their failure to provide regular electricity and drinking water supply.
The protesting people were also up in arms against the Department of Food Supplies for shortage to the residents.

The protesters accused the administration of adopting indifferent attitude towards the locals and alleged that the Government was neglecting people despite many promises time and again.
“There are unscheduled and frequent power cuts in the area. We raised this issue with the concerned authorities but no action has been taken yet,” the protesters said and also alleged that the transformer meant for the locality was shifted to other area because of political reasons.
Later administrative officials reached the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring them of redressal of their grievances with regard to electricity and water supply.
