KATHUA , Sept 29: The villagers of Katal Brahmna today gheraoed the PDD Divisional Office here in protest against the failure of the Department to restore the damaging transformer in the area for last two and half months.
The protestors raising slogans against the Government did not allow any employee to come out of office or enter inside. They said that they were facing complete blackout for last two and half months and they will not move from here unless their demand is met.
They also gheraoed the PDD workshop and did not allow any transformer to be taken out of workshop or inside it for repairs. The protestors warned to continue the gherao of the office till the transformer in their village is installed.
Seeing the situation is going out of control, the PDD officers dispatched the transformer to the area and the blockade was only lifted when the protestors got a telephonic message from the people in the village that the transformer has been installed.
