RAJOURI, Nov 5: A villager was killed in a house collapse in Thannamandi area of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that one Ghani Shah (55), son of Mohd Shah, resident of village Chharung in Thannamandi was repairing central support (wooden pillar) of his `Kutcha’ house during the day. During the process, one of the support got slipped and main wooden `Shehteer’ fell down along with entire structure. While other family members including his wife, three daughters and a son escaped he was buried alive under the debris. The villagers rushed to the site and later extricated his body from the debris.
He was the only earning member of the family. The villagers approached the administration to provides assistance to the children of the deceased.
