Village Sae gets double-lane bridge after 55 years: Tony

JAMMU, Oct 27: Taranjit Singh Tony, Chairman of Aam Aadmi Party J&K for Administrative Engagement and Minority Affairs and DDC Member Suchetgarh on today termed BJP as a ‘Jumla’ Party and castigated it for being best at rhetoric but zero on ground for doing nothing to provide succor to the people.
The senior AAP leader was speaking after inaugurating a double lane bridge between villages Hara Peer and Sae. He said that this bridge was 55-year old pending demand of the people of the area especially those belonging to Sae village.
In a veiled attack on local BJP leaders, Tony said that the former Cabinet Minister never paid any heed to the long pending demand of construction of this double-lane bridge.
The AAP functionary made it clear that the style of functioning of AAP is different from other political parties as for AAP the first and foremost priority is fulfillment of the aspirations of the people and everything comes after people’s satisfaction.
Tony said that he had promised the people during the run up to DDC elections that he will ensure the construction of this bridge and today its work is launched. He said that this is a Diwali and Bhai Dooj gift from his side to the people of the constituency and also promised to start the bridge project between Nikowal and Zona Farm costing Rs 22 crore soon after the approval by the government. “The estimated cost of the bridge between Hara Peer and Sae is Rs 11 crore and the concerned man-Anil Sharma, who is constructing the bridge has assured that the same will be made operational in record time”, Tony said adding that the strategic location of the bridge will also help the army in transporting logistics in shortest possible time.
The people of the area demanded that the bridge should be named after Sobha Singh, senior leader of the area who led the struggle for this bridge all along his life.
Others present on the occasion include Sarpanch Sae, Sarbajit Singh, Sarpanch Sham Lal Bhagat, Tilak Raj Bhagat, Sarpanch Shashi Bhagat, Chairman BDC Tarsem Singh, Ex Sarpanch Lucky Choudhary, senior leader APP Mandeep Choudhary and Avinash Choudhary.
