Viksit -Atamnirbhar Bharat is not a mere slogan but a mission and GoI is determined to work on this at every level till the last man/woman standing in the row is benefitted from it. Six focus areas have been identified; MSMEs, infrastructure and investments, minimising compliances, women empowerment, health and nutrition and skill development. From time to time new plans are devised and schemes passed on to State/UTs, grants and guidance are provided, progress is monitored and course corrections, if required, are applied. Special focus on removing age-old compliances, making things easy. The renewed focus is on women empowerment, special support to self-help groups through JKRLM ‘UMEED’ program with guided efforts to showcase their products at airports, events, training, capacity and skill building with the help of ITIs, the establishment of more than three thousand village haats, homestay initiatives, financial help for women SHGs, sign up with e-commerce Meesho so that they get the right exposure and value of their products. JKRLM is also actively involved in women’s and child’s healthcare and nutrition. Some districts have taken initiatives on their own like District Samba coming out with ‘Bobo ki Sandukadi’- eco-friendly products showcased on Instagram accounts for direct orders and pledge to sustainable help to SHGs. ‘Ease of Living’ and ‘Ease of Doing Business’ are the targeted areas and all efforts are to streamline the system on this pattern only.
Special focus on women and children, the establishment of integrated help lines, and testing of the whole population for non-communicable diseases remain the upcoming priority. MSMEs are the future for revenue and employment generation and the stress is to make MSME holders aware of different benefit schemes. Sustained efforts from multiple departments are being channelized to give impetus to all six vertical pillars. From time to time conferences are organised, plans shared, responsibilities assigned, and grants given and after some time progress is monitored and loopholes, if any, are plugged in. All these are sustained efforts to make things happen, not easy but doable.
