In a statement, Vikramaditya Singh said that with the commissioning today of this multi- crore project, the passengers at the Jammu airport would be having enhanced passenger handling per hour and more checks-in and use of modern technology for heat and water conservation.
“This will help ease the great inconvenience that the passengers had to face earlier”, he said but pointed out that the other half of the work is yet to be completed.
Referring to the expansion of the runway at Jammu airport, he expressed a sense of urgency towards handing over of the Defense land to the Airport authority so as to begin work on runway expansion at the earliest. “This would enable safer landings and take offs with greater load,” he explained and urged the Government to take up the matter with Defense Minister without further delay.
