JAMMU, Oct 10: Continuing with series of development works, Vikram Malhotra, general secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), started construction work of a drain at Prem Nagar, Ward No 7 in Jammu East Constituency.
For the construction of drain, funds to the tune of Rs 1.51 lakh have been provided by Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Speaking on the occasion, Vikram Malhotra said that the drain was in dilapidated condition for so long, due to which the rain water used to enter in the houses of residents of the locality.
He maintained that civic amenities are the basic necessity of present day life and proper attention should be given to address people’s grievances promptly.
He informed that a deputation of residents of Prem Nagar had met Amrit Malhotra, Chairman, Legislative Council, few days ago and highlighted their demand for construction of a drain in their area at the earliest. Amrit Malhotra immediately released the required funds from his CDF.
VK Trikha, JE, PHE Department, who was also present on the occasion, assured the gathering that he would do his best to resolve all the issues related to drinking water supply within a week’s time.
