JAMMU, Feb 13: A deputation representing various areas of Banihal, led by the Minister of State for Technical Education, PDD, Information and CAPD, Vikar Rasool, today called on the Minister for R&B and Mechanical Engineering Department, Abdul Majid Wani and projected the road connectivity requirements of their respective areas.
The deputation projected demands of construction of different roads of uncovered areas of Banihal constituency, including Nadikhah, Halla, Sarachi, Manjosh, Odkah, Gugthal, Doligam, Chamalwas Gangna, Bankote Gujarnar, Krawah Chachahal and other adjoining areas.
Mr. Wani assured the deputationists that necessary instructions would be passed to the concerned at earliest for initiating the process to construct roads to unconnected areas of the Banihal constituency. He said it was the priority of the Government to ensure connectivity to the people living in far flung and rural areas of the State, which would in turn result in the socio-economic development of these areas.
While passing on spot direction to the Secretary R&B for taking up these roads within the shortest possible time, Mr. Wani directed for ensuring the construction of Harnihal- Manjosh road on priority basis. He also asked for immediate completion of Banihal- Maho-Mangit, Kawna – Maho, Shalgari, Pogal and Panchal roads taken up under PMGSY. He also directed for taking up of Ukerhal-Bingara and Shegan road.
Commissioner Secretary R&B, Tanveer Jehan and MD, JKPCC and other senior officers were also present.
