Vijaypur remains neglected: Manjit Singh

VIJAYPUR, Nov 25: Alleging acute backwardness and underdevelopment in Vijaypur constituency, Congress candidates from Vijaypur and former Minister Manjit Singh accused National Conference MLA and local representative for ignoring Vijaypur and said that it remain underdeveloped.
As a part of election campaign, Manjit Singh addressed series of meeting in various parts of Vijaypur constituency today.
While assuring to formulate a comprehensive and exclusive vision for overall development of Vijaypur, he promised to remove backwardness and underdevelopment. He observed that Vijaypur lacks development in every sphere of life, be it health, education, employment etc and there is a need to implement a comprehensive policy for the overall development.
“Over last six years, Vijaypur constituency has been let down by its own elected representative,” Singh, said, adding, while launching a veiled attack on local MLA. “The representative of Vijaypur was in the state cabinet, but in spite of that, this constituency continued to remain ignored,” Singh said.
He accused the local representative of not bringing any development schemes in the Vijaypur. He said during last six year local representatives only enjoyed political benefit and always adopted favouritism in the constituency as only sympathizers and workers of National Conference get benefit.
He said that Border Areas Development Project was not implemented in true spirit which left the border people to live with adversities.
He appealed to the people of Vijaypur to give support and vote in his favour to bring change and overall development of Vijaypur.
