JAMMU, Nov 1: As a part of continuous drive launched against the habitual offenders, notorious criminal and gamblers by the District Police Samba a police party of PS Vijaypur during two different raids conducted at Thalori area in Vijaypur tehsil and at Old Vijaypur today nabbed six gamblers.
The gamblers arrested at Thalori were identified as Ashwani Kumar S/o Manu Ram, Bhanu Slathia S/o Kaka Slathia, Ganesh Slathia S/o Narinder Singh, Rakesh Singh S/o Raghuvir Singh all residents of Gurha Slathia and recovered stake money of Rs. 18, 570 along with playing cards from their possession.
In an another similar incident, a police party of PS Vijaypur headed by Inspector Suraj Pathania, SHO Vijaypur under close supervision of Abhishek Sharma, SDPO Vijaypur raided gambling site at Old Vijaypur near railway track, and arrested 2 gamblers namely Ajay Sharma S/o late Bodh Raj Sharma R/o Vijaypur and Davinder Singh S/o Prem Singh R/o Gurha Slathia and recovered stake money of Rs 8500/- alongwith playing cards from their possession.
The raids were carried under the directions of SSP Samba, Anil Magotra. All the gamblers were booked under Section 13 Gambling Act.
