Vijay, Sunita seek CM intervention to stop crime against women

JAMMU, Oct 5: Famous bollywood celebrity Vijay Singh and President, Rural Women Foundation Sunita Sharma has sought intervention of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to stop crime against women, which is at rise in the society.
Addressing a press conference, Vijay Singh said that in past one week, two gang-rape cases have been reported in Jammu city. People of Jammu should raise voice against inhuman crimes, he said, adding that he had came all the way from Mumbai to raise voice against this gruesome incidents against women in Jammu.
Sunita Sharma said that police is delaying the investigation process in the gang-rape case, which took place few days back in Channi Himmat area as one of the accused is still at large. Police is harassing victim, she added.
Amandeep Singh, District Youth President, AAP requested the civil society, organizations and political parties to come in support of the victim.
Tajinder Pal Singh and Varun Preet Singh from Sikh Youth Sewa Trust also appealed to the people to raise their voice against the crime against women.
Later, a candle march was also organized by RWF at Gole Market, Gandhi Nagar in support of gang-rape victim.
