JAMMU, Mar 28: Vijay Sharma, Rtd DC Excise, has been elected as president of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Vivekananda Branch of Gandhi Nagar, for the year 2016-17.
Sat Paul Khajuria, Rtd ETO was elected as secretary and Jagdish Padha as treasurer.
The election of new office bearers was held during annual general body meeting of Bharat Vikas Parishad, Vivekanand Branch of Gandhi Nagar at Jasrota Mata Mandir Rajbagh where more than 180 members were present.
Santosh Gupta, the central observer and founder member of Innerwheel Rotary Club and first PhD of the State, conducted the election proceedings and declared the new team elected unanimously.
On the occasion, annual report was present by outgoing president V K Phoa. Other members highlighted aims and objectives of the organization.
