Vijay elected president of JU NGEU

JAMMU, Nov 27: Vijay Kumar has been elected as president of Jammu University Non-Gazetted Employees Union (NGEU), which went to polls today.
In a triangular contest, he defeated his nearest rival Vinod Sharma with a margin of 22 votes.
Suraj Parkash and Banarsi Lal were elected as the vice president and general secretary respectively while Kuldeep Sharma was declared elected for the post of joint secretary. Mohan Lal, Raj Kumar (Raju) and Swarn Singh were elected as organizing secretary, publicity secretary and cashier, respectively.
The six executive members among the total sixteen contestants, who were declared elected, are Bal Krishan, Bodh Raj, Om Parkash Bali, Parveen, Ravi Kumar and Showkat Ali.
Elections for the new office bearers and executive members of NGEU were held today in which 415 out of total 492 members of the union cast their vote.
Pertinent to mention that the outgoing president of NGEU, Krishan Lal is attaining age of superannuation on 30th of this month after serving the Jammu University for more than three decades.
