JAMMU, Apr 6: The State Vigilance Organisation Kashmir today filed chargesheet before the Anti-Corruption Court, Baramulla against three Forest officers, two of whom have already retired.
The charge-sheeted officers included Mohammad Shafi Dar, the then Range Officer Gurez, now retired, Ghulam Nabi Bhat, the then Block Foresters Kawabal, now retired and Abdul Qayoom Shah, then Block Forester Churwan, Gurez.
They have been charged with causing a loss of Rs 2.93 lakh to the State exchequer in the construction of Forest check post at Chekwali Kawabal, Gurez and in implementation of CMS participatory programme during the year 2008-09.
The Vigilance produced another chargesheet against then BMO Surankote Dr Mumtaz Hussain Shah, then Junior Assistant, Sub District Hospital, Surankote Abdul Qayoom and six private persons for issuing illegal appointment orders without advertising the posts and by-passing rules and procedures for transparent selection process.
Six other accused persons included Mushtaq Ahmad son of Samad Joo R/o Lathoong, Qadir Ahmad son of Mohammad Rashid R/o Gunthal, Kabir Ahmad son of Khurshid Ahmad R/o Sanai, Mushtaq Ahmad son of Aziz-ud-Din R/o Lathoong, Tahira Parveen wife of Mushtaq Ahmad R/o Bafliaz and Niaz Ahmad son of Nazir Hussain R/o Sanai.
