JAMMU, May 14: In an impressive function held today at KL Sehgal hall, a video CD “Peeng Pyar Di” and an audio CD “Misri Di Dali – Danish Rang” were released today.
Both video and audio CDs contain ghazals written by Des Raj Danish, an eminent Punjabi writer of J&K State. The singers and artists in video CD are Ravi Raghu Vanshi, Virender Kapadia and Asha Bajaj who have done a commendable job and have given their best in the CD. The music is also composed by Ravi Raghu Vanshi.
The audio CD contains ghazals sung by Sham Sajan, Rabjot singh, Mukti Oberoi and Shyam Manyal. Music is composed by Sham Sajan. The prominent personalities who released the CD were KB Jandiyal, Ex- Director Information and administrator JMC, Narinder Singh, Ex- Director Information, Prof Baljeet Kaur, Dr Nirmal Vinod and Sahitya Academy Awardee, Mohan Singh.
All the dignitaries while speaking on the occasion put emphasis on promoting the local languages as was being done earlier by the State Government but has become vestigial in supporting local artists nowadays. The dignitaries also hoped that every help may be provided to the artists in publishing their hard work as there is no such support available at present and artists have to spend all the expense from their own pocket in this regard.
Live performance of the ghazals written by Danish was given on the occasion by Ravi Ragu Vanshi and Virender Kapadia accompanied by Deepak Raghu Vanshi. The function was conducting in a befitting manner by Vijay Attri, an artist of repute.
