RAJOURI, May 12: BJP J&K General Secretary and former MLC Vibodh Gupta conducted a two-day tour of several areas of Rajouri district affected by cross-border shelling and interacted with local residents.
He visited Dalogra refugee camp, Dhangri, Gunni, Chatyar, Irwankhetar, Gambhir, Patrara, Tandwal, Muradpur, Bathuni, Dharidhara Manjakote, and Mangalnar area.
During his tour, Vibodh Gupta listened to grievances of the shelling-hit people and assured them of the Modi Government’s commitment to their well-being. He described the suffering of the people in the twin border districts as deeply painful, stating that they have been among the worst affected by cross-border terrorism and wars since 1947.
“The residents of LoC areas have time and again demonstrated unmatched courage. They have always stood shoulder to shoulder with the Indian Army in defending the nation,” Vibodh said. He lauded their strength and resilience, calling it “nothing short of heroic.”
Vibodh further stated that under the strong and decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is fully prepared to give a befitting reply to any aggression from Pakistan, both militarily and diplomatically. He invoked the spirit of “Mission Sindoor,” symbolizing India’s determination to safeguard the dignity and safety of every citizen, particularly the brave border residents.
He urged the local administration and concerned authorities to ensure swift relief, rehabilitation, and compensation for the affected families. He emphasized that timely support is essential to rebuild the lives of those impacted by the border tensions.
Taking a firm stance, Vibodh appealed to the Congress party to refrain from making statements or taking actions that could demoralize the Indian Army or undermine national unity, especially at such a sensitive time. “The opposition must act responsibly and uphold the spirit of nationalism, rather than playing into the hands of the enemy,” he added.
