NEW DELHI, July 22: BJP senior leader and MLC, Vibodh Gupta called on national general secretary of BJP, Ram Madhav here, today. During the meeting Vibodh discussed a wide range of issues related to Jammu & Kashmir with him. Vibodh briefed Ram Madhav about current party related issues in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch and about party’s prospects in the coming Assembly elections.
He informed Madhav that currently party is on its all time high in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch. He said that presently many prominent leaders from other regional parties are joining the BJP as the local population is linking its future with the vision and mission of PM, Narendra Modi. He further added that the majority of the local population of Pahari Muslims and Gujjars in the area are currently expressing their faith on BJP and this is the only reason that party is strengthening its base in every nook and corner of the area. With such a upbeat atmosphere in favour of BJP, Vibodh gave assurance to him that BJP will definitely win five seats from these two border districts of the State.
While giving details about the recent party campaign for membership, Vibodh informed that this membership drive has received a tremendous response from the locals, specially from the Muslim youth of the area.
Madhav said that he is very pleased to note that party is making a strong presence in the twin border districts of the State. This he said is very important to ensure that BJP comes to power in the State with a strong mandate from the people of all the three regions.
He advised MLC to put more and more efforts for strengthening the party at grass root level. He also asked him to keep a close eye on the various developmental initiatives in the region and to ensure that poor and marginalised communities of the area are benefitted from various Government schemes. During these discussions MLC also invited Madhav to plan a extensive tour for Rajouri and Poonch as this will boost the morale of the party workers and will further strengthen the party in the area.
