RAJOURI May 10: BJP senior leader and MLC Vibodh Gupta held a meeting with the local residents from all the Municipal Wards of Rajouri. The meeting was held at Town Hall Rajouri and was attended by residents drawn from various wards of Rajouri. On the occasion threadbare discussion was held on various key issues being faced by each Municipal Ward. The local residents raised issues with regard to condition of pathways, water and electricity.
Some people demanded construction of park or garden within the Municipal limits of Rajouri. This they said is very important as there is no place even for recreation activities for the children.
Residents also raised the issue of a proper marriage hall in the city outskirts with all the necessary facilities. While responding to these demands put forth by the people, MLC Vibodh assured his full support to the residents and informed that he will soon discuss these issues in detail with DyCM Dr Nirmal Singh who is also the Minister Housing and Urban Development. He said that in the past also Government has taken many initiatives which will make Rajouri town a Model Town. For this it is very vital that civil society starts owning these initiatives and becomes part of these.
While giving details about various cleanliness programmes started by the Government Vibodh said that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan being led by PM Narendra Modi has done wonders in many areas. This programmes has proved that when citizens of any area join any such campaign they can do wonders. Many cities in India have become clean as a result of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
He called upon the citizens of Rajouri to become active members of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and they will soon themselves see a clean and green Rajouri. At the same time he also stressed on the need for upgrading Rajouri Municipal Committee.
