JAMMU, Jan 14: Mahant Manjit Singh from Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch while paying his obeisance to 10th Sikh Guru -Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj at a seminar here today organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in connection with celebration of 350th birth anniversary of great Guru threw light on the life and the supreme sacrifices made by this great son of India.
Mahant Ji said besides, a great warrior, Guru Gobind Singh was a great Yogi also who not only gave his supreme sacrifice for the great cause but also did not hesitate in making the supreme sacrifice of his four children and father for this holy cause.
He said for Guru Ji nation was first priority and he did not believe in casteism which was prevalent at that time and to remove the same he created Panj Piyaras from different castes and different regions of the country.
While baptizing them, he first offered Amrit to them and then took same himself and also offered to entire Sangat to lay an example that all human beings are creation of God and are equal. The Guru who was also a great spiritual power fought for the rights of the people of entire nation and all sects instead of a particular sect.
Addressing the seminar VHP State president advocate Leela Karan Sharma said Guru Gobind Singh had saved this nation from mass conversions with his supreme sacrifices and fighting the tyrant rulers of that time.
He said opposing the forced conversions his two small sons also laid down their lives instead of bowing before the wishes of a tyrant ruler of that time and kept an example for others to follow.
Maha Mandleswar Mahant Rameshwar Dass of Purani Mandi also spoke in the seminar and paid his obeisance to Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj saying that he bows before this great son of India who has been savior of this nation and saved it from the mass conversions and tyrant rulers of that time.
VHP senior leader, Dr Rama Kant Dubey, vice president Rajesh Gupta, secretaries, Shakti Dutt Sharma Ajay Manhas, Dr Aadarsh Parihar other functionaries Ashok Gupta and Rajesh Bhasin, besides Bajrang Dal leaders Naveen Sudhan and Rakesh Sharma were among prominent people who attended the seminar.
