*Ranjit wins Pickleball gold

JAMMU, Nov 7: The Badminton event of the 2nd Jammu & Kashmir Masters Games concluded today at RS Sports Academy, Miran Sahib, here today. Organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Masters Games Association (JKMGA) in affiliation with the Super Masters Games and Sports Federation (India), the tournament saw enthusiastic participation from seasoned players across two age categories: 30-45 years and 45-65 years. Matches were conducted under the supervision of Romesh Sharma, Treasurer, JKMGA, ensuring fair play throughout.
In the 30-45 years category, Akshay Behal won the men’s singles, defeating Balwinder Saini, who took silver, while Amit Dalal and Pankaj Vig shared bronze. In men’s doubles, Mohit Jain & Makrand Mehta clinched gold, Amit Dalal & Amit Bhat silver, and bronze medals went to Pankaj Vig & Ankush Jamwal and Balwinder Saini & Romesh.
In the 45-65 years category, singles gold went to Vivek Slathia, silver to Joginder Pal Sharma, and bronze was shared by Amit Singh and Jasvinder Singh. In doubles, Amit Singh & Jasvinder Singh won gold, Vivek Slathia & Joginder Sharma silver, and Narinder Singh & Chaman Sharma and Romesh Raina & Rameshwar Singh Manhas shared bronze.
Meanwhile, the Pickleball event of the 2nd Jammu & Kashmir Masters Games also concluded today. Organized by JKMGA in affiliation with the Super Masters Games and Sports Federation (India), the tournament drew enthusiastic participation from senior players.
In the final, Ranjit Singh Chib defeated Rameshwar Singh Manhas to clinch the Gold Medal, with scores of 10-05, 9-10, 10-9. Praval Sharma secured the Bronze Medal in the 50-plus age group. The event celebrated sportsmanship, fitness and camaraderie among Masters Athletes in J&K.
