SRINAGAR, Oct 13: The veterinary pharmacist diploma holders of Ladakh Division today sought amendment in the appointment rules in State Animal and sheep Husbandry Department.
A delegation of diploma holders told Excelsior here that the department is not making any amendment in the appointment rules of Veterinary Pharmacist/ stock assistant/ Assistant stockmen and the said posts are being filled by Jammu and Kashmir State with just qualification of Matric with science as per schedule 11 (A) Rule 5 – subordinate service recruitment rules 1987 and the said rule has not been amended till date.
They said that compared to Jammu and Kashmir, the other states like West Bengal and Haryana have kept qualification for the above mentioned Veterinary Pharmacist posts as veterinary posts or equivalent.
“Hence as the above mentioned posts are technical posts as such the necessary amendment needs to be made while inviting applications for the said posts and not only Matric with science will serve the purpose for the government but it should be 2 years veterinary diploma course also,” the diploma holders from Ladakh region said.
