Khan said that Kashmir is as important for him as Jammu and he will fulfill the task assigned to him by the authorities who send him here as the Advisor to Governor.
He said he has a relation with Kashmir as his maternal parents are in Kashmir and during his anti militancy operations as a police officer they were subjected to lot of humiliation and harassment through the hands of militants. There property was damaged and they were tortured but still they did not claim any compensation.
Khan warned that he will be tough to those who will do unlawful things and such people can’t expect any good treatment from him. “I have been always tough on such elements and will continue to stick to my life long principle in this regard,” he added.
Expressing the concern over the drug menace which gripped the Jammu region, he said. “I was hurt after coming to know about the death of a youth recently in Jammu by drugs when he was 7000 kms away from here,. Another youth who was also a drug addict killed his grand father and grand mother few days back”, he added.
This menace is spreading like wild fire and it will spoil the society if not controlled. He made it clear that he will be tough to drug addicts and mafia which is behind spreading this menace in the society.
He said “whatever I can do as part of Government in weeding out this menace I would do that with dedication and devotion and will not show any leniency in this regard”. Khan warned that he will not come under any body’s influence.
He said that terrorism is catastrophic but the menace of drug is more dangerous than that as it destroys generations together so need of the hour is that we have to weed it out from the society completely.
The Advisor said “not only Jammu but Kashmir has also come under its grip and youth are falling a prey to drugs rapidly there too and “whatever I can do to eradicate this menace I will do that” , .
He said while posting me as Advisor of the State Governor those who appointed me in Delhi said that you were on a superior position so we don’t think that you will accept this responsibility and if you don’t accept we will not take it otherwise”. “But my answer to them was that it was my good luck that you chose me for this responsibility to serve the Bharat Mata”.
He said “I pray to come up to the expectations of the people of the State. Khan said there is not a decision yet that which departments will remain under his charge but it will be his endeavor to help any one who comes to him with a genuine problem pertaining to any department”.
