Versatile singer Kishore Kumar remembered on his birth anniversary

KOLKATA: Versatile singer-lyricist-composer-director-scriptwriter-producer-actor Kishore Kumar would have celebrated his 89th birthday, had he been alive and the film fraternity believes the singer-actor would have been a hit with audiences even today.

To mark the birth anniversary of the legendary singer, who made people laugh and cry with equal ease, he was the one voice that gave musical meaning to every human emotion.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remembered the legend Kishore Kumar on the occasion.

“Remembering the legend Kishore Kumar on his birth anniversary,” Ms Banerjee posted on her social networking page.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan in his tweet said, “4th August, birth Anniversary of Kishore Kumar .. a versatile genius .. Prod, Dir, Actor , Singer , Music Dir “Kishore’da sang In more than 51 films for me , as my voice ?more than 130 songs?and in more then 60 films that i acted in.”

Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar in her tweet said, “Namaskar.Aaj bahuaayami pratibha ke dhani Kishore Kumar ji ki jayanti hai.Hum dono ka bhai behen ka rishta bahut gehra tha.Kishore da aur unki baatein aaj bhi mujhe bahut yaad aati hai.Mera unke saath pehla geet jo 1948 mein record hua tha,aap sabke liye.
Bollywood Director Sujoy Ghosh said, “happy birthday kishore kumar! still the one and only!”
Veteran Bollywood actor tweeted, “Happy birthday Kishore da. Thank you all for your contribution to my career.” Actress Preity Zinta? in her tweet said, “Remembering the legendary, timeless and talented #KishoreKumar on his birthday today because his song “Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas” is woven in my strongest childhood memory of my father. He was his biggest fan & so am I.” Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan in his tweet said, “My tribute to Kishore Kumar on his birth anniversary. Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries and singer Babul Supriyo in his tweet said, “One of the most remarkable artists to walk on our land, #KishoreKumar, entertainer extraordinaire as a singer, composer, musician, comedian, actor, and what not. On his birth anniversary, I would like to pay my tribute to the nation’s beloved Kishore Da.”
In an another tweet Supriyo said,” Happy Birthday KishoreDada.
