Government as well as the expectations of the people have been belied as all the 33 ventilators installed in the Unit are not functioning. Call it sheer inefficiency of the hospital management or whatever, as reportedly Central Government as well as the UT Government have been extending reasonably adequate support to the GMC hospital
but both the Governments cannot “give” efficient management too along with new accessories and equipment to it to ”run the show” which has been
very poor for the last two months. Let no more of bluff with the public in the name
of COVID -19 be there as claims of improvement in the situation on ground are proving absolutely otherwise. Ventilators are there but uninterrupted oxygen supply is not matching as there is a wide ”gap” between the percentage of oxygen saturation
of existing oxygen plant and the new ventilators. Wastage of costly assets like 156 ventilators kept in stores for the last six months to bite dust
but the administration, rather the management, is aghast as to what to do with them in the given situation. An early intervention of the authorities concerned
to salvage the position is highly solicited in the interests of the suffering patients
