KATHUA, May 9: The staff of the Lakhanpur Check Post led by the Range Officer-Lakhanpur, Pankaj Khajuria impounded a vehicle bearing the registration No. JK-03E-7527 loaded with wooden logs, which was coming from Harnag in district Anantnag of Kashmir valley this afternoon.
On further verification by the forest staff and as per the documents recovered , the vehicle was moving for its onward destination to Saharanpur ( UP) and was carrying the sleepers of Bren, Popular and few logs of willow as well outside J&K.
However the vehicle was not carrying the enclosing documents from the Forest Department or the local Forest Division meant for its transportation to outside the State as clearly mentioned on the bill/invoice recovered.
As such the vehicle along with the stuff was seized for the violation of the LT rules sections viz. 2, 13, 15 and 16 of J & K Forest Act , 1987 ( 1930 AD) and further verification as well investigation is going on .
