KISHTWAR Oct 6: A girl was killed and 8 others were injured when a Xylo vehicle they were traveling in for attending a marriage function turned turtle near Thathri, Doda.
The ill-fated vehicle carrying “baratis” with registration number JK17-1658 was on its way to attend a marriage function, when the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle turned turtle near Thathri, resulting into injuries to nine persons.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured were shifted to Kishtwar hospital in police and other vehicles, where doctors declared Kajal Devi (22), daughter of Munshi Ram, resident of Sarthal as brought dead.
Later, out of eight injured persons, three were injured were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advance treatment.
The injured have been identified as Saroop Chand (30), son of Kunj Lal of Bhatkot Kuntwara, Bhola Ram (32) resident of Trigham, Anil Kumar (20), son of Om Prakash of Phugmar, Raksha Devi (33), wife of Pyare Lal of Phugmar, Chander Prakash (23), son of Des Raj of Trigham, Bittu Ram (24), son Chuni
Lal of Kandot, Dharam Pal (34), son of Roop Lal of Sarthal, Shatu Ram (33), son of Chatu Ram of, Sarthal.
A case has been registered and investigation started.
