UDHAMPUR, May 23: Two bovine animals died and two others sustained critical injuries when a Tata Mobile, in which they were being smuggled to Kashmir Valley, rolled down into a deep gorge near Chenani, here today.
The incident took place when a police party from Chenani Police Station intercepted the Tata Mobile JK0BF-1486 during a surprise naka on the National Highway near Chenani Top. As bovine animals were being smuggled in the Tata Mobile, its driver jumped out of the moving vehicle. While the driver managed to flee, the moving vehicle rolled down into deep gorge resulting into death of two animals and injuries to two others.
Chenani Police has registered the case in this connection.
