JAMMU, Feb 1: Satwari police under ‘Operation AVTAR’ arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered stolen motorcycle from his possession.
As per police sources, on January 29 this year, a complaint was filed by Darshan Lal, son of Girdhari Lal, a resident of Barjala with Police Station Satwari stating that some unknown persons have stolen his motorcycle bearing registration number JKO2BG-7924 from Chatha road, Upper Gadi Garh.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 22/18 under Section 379 RPC was registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police watched the CCTV footage and finally succeeded in arresting the vehicle lifter.
The arrested person has been identified as Sunil Kumar alias Jatao, son of Yashpal of Chakroi, tehsil RS Pura. On his disclosure, police recovered the stolen motorcycle.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Satwari Inspector Manjeet Singh and assisted by Incharge Gadi Garh Police Post SI Gurupal Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, Incharge SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
