UDHAMPUR, Jan 14: Udhampur Police arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered a stolen bike as well as a scooty from his possession.
A written complaint was lodged by Sunil Singh son of Padam Dev Singh of Barrian, Udhampur, reporting that his Bullet bike, which was parked at Slathia Chowk, outside his shop, had been stolen by some unknown thieves.
In response to the complaint, a case FIR was registered and a special team was constituted by SHO Udhampur Inspector Raghuvir Singh, to apprehend the culprits. Acting swiftly, the team gathered information through reliable sources and used technical assistance succeeding to arrest of accused Rohit Atri alias Nittu, son of Romesh Kumar of Dalsar, tehsil Ramnagar, district Udhampur.
On his disclosure, the said stolen Bullet bike and a scooty bearing registration number JK19A-4162, which was also stolen on 29.12.2024 were recovered from his possession. Further investigation of the case is ongoing.
